BIOGRAPHY
The Whiskey Charmers create their own brand of original Dusty Americana music with sultry, desert-noir guitar textures and heart-tugging vocal melodies. Their sound evokes imagery of late-night driving down a desert highway. The band formed in 2012 when classic country-leaning singer/songwriter Carrie Shepard collided with dynamic, rock/blues-influenced guitarist Lawrence Daversa, creating a desert-noir sound that surprised them both.
William P Davis (Former Deputy Director of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville) says of the band, “I’ve heard a lot of good musicians. The Whiskey Charmers remind me of no one – and, to me, that is one of the best compliments an act can receive.”
Local accolades include multiple Detroit Music Awards as well as earning the title of Best Americana Band by Detroit Metro Times readers the past three years in a row. The band has reached beyond Detroit with tours across the country, global airplay, international reviews, and a song placement in the popular video game Detroit: Become Human.
Following a steady string of five studio releases since 2015, The Whiskey Charmers return in the spring of 2027 with Late Night Driving. Recorded across studios in Detroit and Nashville, the record adds new depth to their signature sound. With a hometown release party and a tour out West in the works, The Whiskey Charmers are ready to take Late Night Driving where it belongs – out on the open road.
